Client: Balance Out Living | Architect: Claridge Architects

Planning was approved in February 2022 for co-living pioneer Balance Out Living’s sustainable new development, Culvert Road, situated near Battersea Park.

Once completed, the scheme will comprise 213 studio apartments and over 16,000 sq. ft of onsite amenity space as part of a modern co-living community for the London Borough of Wandsworth.

Featuring communal kitchens, resident lounges, co-working spaces, gym facilities with treatment rooms, a cinema room, café and bar, additional benefits include regular social events organised by the onsite team, 24-hour staff and security, and regular cleaning and linen changes.

As the appointed Structural Engineers, we aim to re-use the site’s previously installed foundations and basement construction to reduce carbon impact. This is in addition to Balance Out Living’s wellbeing-focused ethos incorporating a plethora of green walls, edible gardens and landscaped terraces offering panoramic views of London. They have also agreed to deliver a new state-of-the-art sports facility for the neighbouring Harris Academy School.
