Job Description:

We are on the hunt for an experienced, enthusiastic, and passionate Senior Structural Engineer with at least five years UK-based experience to contribute towards our diverse and ever-increasing portfolio of work across London and the UK.

As part of our dynamic team, you will be a vital part of the project team in delivering our current suite of ongoing projects, including the preparation of structural analysis models, detailed structural calculations, sketches and specifications, further to developing broader technical solutions for the business.

You will work across a variety of sectors and, over time, will have ample opportunity to assume greater levels of responsibility as your professional skills continue to develop.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Effectively controlling significant aspects of projects, for which you are responsible,
  • Excellent knowledge of standard engineering practices, techniques, procedures and Structural principles,
  • Compliance with company procedures to produce safe, sustainable, innovative technical work guided by your Director,
  • Work and communicate proactively within project teams and with other design discipline peers (such as M&E, geotechnical, environment etc.) to positively influence success of the structural inputs and project as a whole,
  • Undertaking structural engineering projects, performing analyses and calculations as appropriate,
  • Producing and in some circumstances supervising work, ensuring that it is carried out to the appropriate technical standard and that it is managed to programme and budget,
  • Input to bidding, assessment and control of budget, timescales and risk evaluation (reputational, commercial and CDM)
  • Supervise and mentor other Engineers and Technicians within the team.
  • Prepare reports, general correspondence, etc. as required in connection with the running of projects.
  • Assist with the training and career development of staff, including provision of internal training courses/ seminars
  • Proficient in the use of analysis and design software
  • Team worker with good communication and people management skills through a mature and professional attitude.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil and / or Structural Engineering
  • Registered or working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with the ICE or IStructE
  • Minimum five years’ UK-based experience in Structural Engineering
